Affirmed Naturals is a Black-Owned hair care brand founded with one goal in mind: to create a holistic approach to natural hair care by providing clean, vegan products that are free of parabens, sulfates and other harmful chemicals.

What makes Affirmed Naturals different? We emphasize the importance of hair care that starts from within. We honor every aspect of natural hair, from its pattern, to its texture and porosity, even down to its unique growth cycle.

Affirmed Naturals believes in holistic care starting with pure, all natural, island-inspired ingredients that not only can nourish the hair, but can also nourish our entire bodies.

OUR STORY

Affirmed Naturals was created by Allysa Oliver, a Caribbean-American with roots in the island of Barbados. Throughout her own natural hair and holistic lifestyle journey, she struggled to find hair products without harsh chemicals. After doing extensive research on her own, she discovered that the beauty industry thrives off of harmful ingredients that are linked to cancer and other serious illnesses. After years of formulating different DIY hair treatments with the unique elements of island-inspired ingredients at home, Affirmed Naturals was born.

Our all natural, clean and vegan products will tend to the complexities of natural hair of African descent, while also providing nourishment to all hair types. A holistic hair journey requires time, effort and commitment. Affirmed Naturals will encourage consistency in the daily hair routine, which goes hand in hand with creating daily routines that will benefit one's overall health. 

INSPIRATION FROM THE ISLANDS

Our ingredients are influenced heavily by Caribbean culture. While many natural hair brands use island inspired ingredients in their products, Affirmed Naturals will go above and beyond. We will not only utilize unique ingredients native to the islands, but we will also redefine distorted beauty standards in a society that has a history of insisting curly and kinky hair in its natural state is undesirable. 

AFFIRMED BEAUTY

One meaning of the word 'affirm' is to state as a fact; to assert strongly and publicly. Another meaning of the word is to offer emotional support and encouragement. Affirmed Naturals will embody both definitions of the word, as we target the bold, assured, and confident natural— while also lovingly supporting the timid natural who is on a journey to embrace their hair the way it grows out of their head.
